Due to circumstances beyond our control I am sad to announce the closure of Cains Cottage as of 14.12.24
​
After working with glass for over 30 years and teaching in my studio for nearly 27 years we have to close. Our rented accommodation is being sold and I have been given notice to vacate. As much as Nic and I have enjoyed our time we find ourselves unable to pack up and relocate for the 5th time since we started in the mid 80's.
​
I am currently selling all glass including some rare to find original Spectrum and Uroboros glass.... all at 50% off recommended retail prices marked. Also books, lamps, and finished display pieces. If you have a current gift voucher you may use it for the purchase of glass, books, lamps and finished display items until 14.12.24 when we close our doors for the last time. Unfortunately there are no vacancies for classes left for the remainder of my time there.

We've met some lovely people along the way and will keep some lifetime friends. Thankyou to all.

Mini Classes ,
Special Birthday parties, Team Building sessions, Hens Party
Fusing and Slumping Taster
These classes are an introduction to kiln formed glass. They run for 3 1/2 hours. A large plate, small plate, and as many sun catchers or jewelry as you have time for, can be created needing no special skill, and using only mosaic cutters. You provide 6-10 friends or family, some nibbles to share if you wish, and we provide everything else.
The classes include all glass, materials and 2 kiln firings per piece at a total of $220 per person. All bases for the plates and jewellery are pre cut for you and transparent coloured glass is supplied in strips for ease of cutting. It is a fun, relaxing class and after a week or so, depending upon the amount of pieces to fire, your creations are ready to collect from the studio to show family and friends. You'll notice from the photos the kiln is a wizard at softening up the edges and making each piece stunning!
Hens Nights, Team building sessions and special birthdays, we've also had family reunions, where you can spend time with family and friends in a fun and creative environment. We serve tea and coffee throughout the session.
