14.12.24
Final Update Ever :(

Cains Cottage is closed. We have left our rental studio in Brendale and sold all our stock. We thankyou for your patronage over our 27 years and wish everyone all the very best with their future glass projects.

Please note that the usual mobile number to call is no longer a business number.

Kind regards,
Donna and Nic Cains

Due to circumstances beyond our control I am sad to announce the closure of Cains Cottage as of 14.12.24

After working with glass for over 30 years and teaching in my studio for nearly 27 years we have to close. Our rented accommodation is being sold and I have been given notice to vacate. As much as Nic and I have enjoyed our time we find ourselves unable to pack up and relocate for the 5th time since we started in the mid 80's.

I am currently selling all glass including some rare to find original Spectrum and Uroboros glass.... all at 50% off recommended retail prices marked. Also books, lamps, and finished display pieces. Studio open for this is only by appointment. You can currently contact me on 0413619995, please leave a message if I can't get to the phone. Or by email cainscottage1998@gmail.com

If you have a current gift voucher you may use it for the purchase of glass, books, lamps and finished display items until 14.12.24 when we close our doors for the last time. Unfortunately there are no vacancies for classes left for the remainder of my time there.

We've met some lovely people along the way and will keep some lifetime friends. Thankyou to all.

Regards,
Donna and Nic Cains

Classes & New Student Information
A note to past students who have visited Cains Cottage at The Gap, We have moved to the Hartley-Williams building at
32 Kremzow Road, Brendale and the studio is located on the mezzanine level within the warehouse overlooking all the gorgeous art glass!!

The Cains Cottage studio is equipped with an extensive range of glass, materials and equipment including a kiln,
allowing students to complete projects in a range of areas:

-
LEADLIGHTING
-
COPPERFOIL
-
MOSAIC
-
FUSING & SLUMPING

All classes cater for beginner through to the advanced, with individual attention for each student.
It could be that students are working on different projects, so you might choose to work on a leadlight window, with the student next to you completing a copperfoil lamp while another does a mosaic bird bath.
Students choose their own project and work at their own pace.
Class sizes are kept small (usually 6-8 students) so that you receive maximum attention. Classes are very social and
students can learn in a friendly, non-judgemental atmosphere.
CLASS TIMES, COST/HOW TO PAY, PARKING INFORMATION AND WHAT TO WEAR/BRING:

ALL CLASSES - WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING
Wear comfortable clothes and ENCLOSED SHOES eg sneakers, work boots
NO CROCS OR OPEN SHOES ARE ALLOWED IN THE STUDIO AT ALL

If you don't wear glasses full time please go to Bunnings or similar and get a pair of safety glass, just the $8-10 pair,
The non tinted sunglasses type, not the ones that make you look like you should go snorkling for fish :)
